About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the promotion and visibility of 19 NCAA Division I varsity programs through strategic media relations and digital content creation.
- Manage and update the official athletics website, including rosters, statistics, and records.
- Produce written content such as game stories, news releases, and official media notes.
- Oversee social media strategy and create engaging content across various platforms.
- Coordinate game day media operations, including press box personnel and audio/visual support.
- Assist with ESPN+ broadcasts and other multimedia athletic productions.
- Serve as the primary communications contact for assigned varsity sports.
- Collaborate with marketing and fan engagement teams to produce public address scripts and brand-aligned materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in sports communication or a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics or professional sports (graduate or undergraduate assistant experience may be considered).
- Proficiency with multimedia editing software and social media platforms.
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles and industry trends.
- Knowledge of collegiate athletic media relations practices and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, Lightroom).
- Experience with video editing software such as Premiere, Audition, or After Effects.
- Proficiency with photo and video camera equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with initiative, creativity, and independence.
