About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of highly complex clients within National Accounts, focusing on the profitable growth of the Automotive commercial banking portfolio.
  • Develop and implement structured marketing strategies and strategic sales plans to maximize business development opportunities.
  • Identify prospects and referrals through internal and external networks, prioritizing opportunities based on market data and customer analytics.
  • Lead the direct selling of credit and non-credit commercial products to prospects and existing customers.
  • Partner with the National Accounts Execution Team for credit deal structuring and negotiation.
  • Build and maintain a high market profile by engaging with industry leaders and participating in professional community events.
  • Ensure existing relationships receive ongoing attention, leveraging diverse banking products to meet client needs.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in alignment with the Bank’s risk culture, regulatory compliance, and AML/ATF requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial automotive banking experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the Canadian commercial automotive banking marketplace and familiarity with the Loan Syndication market.
  • Strong understanding of Automotive Finance objectives, strategies, and lending/deposit products.
  • Well-developed credit assessment skills to qualify and assess the creditworthiness of prospects.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate views effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and commercial banking platforms.
