Associate Director Medical Science Liaison

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, guidance, and support to a regional team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)
• Manage the successful execution of MSL strategic, operational, and tactical plans
• Engage key national and regional oncology thought leaders and healthcare professionals
• Exchange scientific information with external parties in an accurate, fair, and balanced manner
• Report field intelligence, including competitive information and treatment landscape perspectives, to leadership
• Represent Medical Affairs as a cross-functional partner and lead high-visibility projects
• Support the achievement of departmental goals through mentorship and professional development of reports
• Provide direct territory coverage when MSL coverage is unavailable in assigned regions

Requirements

• Accredited doctorate degree in a basic-science or life-science discipline (Pharm.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., or D.O.) and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, or
• Master's level oncology PA or NP degree with a minimum of 13 years of related experience
• Ability to travel 50% or more, including occasional weekends
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with large groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Prior experience in Oncology MSL management
• At least 8 years of experience as an MSL specifically in therapeutic oncology
• Previous experience as a people-manager for similarly credentialed professionals
• Completion of formal leadership training coursework
