Associate Director - Landing Systems, Project Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution for military landing gear programs, including requirements management, design, analysis, and certification
• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of eight engineers
• Develop and maintain engineering schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk mitigation strategies
• Coordinate across mechanical, structural, systems, and testing teams to ensure integrated solutions
• Act as the primary engineering interface to Program Management, Operations, Quality, and military customers
• Drive technical problem solving and support new business initiatives, including proposals and bids

Requirements

• STEM degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience (or Advanced Degree with 10+ years of experience)
• 10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, mechanical, structural, or landing systems
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams or project engineers
• Experience managing complex technical programs, budgets, schedules, and risks
• Experience with configuration control, verification/validation, and product lifecycle processes
• U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with military customers and defense programs
• Familiarity with applicable military and aerospace standards
• Strong communication skills and effectiveness in a matrixed environment
