Associate Director, Lab Operations

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and scale the Lab Operations team in Boston
• Advocate for team needs to enable high-volume, high-quality human subjects research
• Define and monitor KPIs to measure program effectiveness and track progress
• Collaborate with research leaders to build a strong culture and efficient ways of working
• Partner with hardware, apparel, and product teams to manage roadmapping tradeoffs and resources
• Ensure clear communication across all stakeholders and research groups

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Research Operations or Program Management
• 2+ years of experience in team management
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog grooming
• Data-driven approach to strategic planning and metric review
• Experience collaborating across engineering, privacy/legal, research, and product functions
• Knowledge of ethical standards for human subjects research, including PII/PHI handling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IRB submissions or clinical regulatory guidance
• Familiarity with GDPR compliance
• Experience working within a health, research, or hardware product environment
