Associate Director, Hub- IP Operations

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee global IP operations activities, including patents, trademarks, and related IP assets.
• Manage a team providing operational support for renewals, annuities, maintenance filings, oppositions, and prosecution support.
• Oversee global IP docketing operations, deadline monitoring, and lifecycle management to ensure audit-ready records.
• Administer and optimize IP management systems, such as Anaqua or equivalent platforms.
• Ensure high standards of IP data integrity, portfolio accuracy, and operational compliance across global assets.
• Coordinate with external counsel, foreign associates, and vendors for filings, renewals, and invoicing.
• Manage IP-related financial processes, including invoices, accruals, billing validation, and spend tracking.
• Drive process standardization, automation opportunities, and SOP development to achieve operational excellence.
• Partner with IP legal experts, procurement, finance, and technology stakeholders globally.
• Develop operational dashboards and portfolio metrics to provide leadership with management insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (specialization in Law, IP, Science, Engineering, or Business preferred).
• 15+ years of relevant experience in Intellectual Property Operations, Administration, or Portfolio Management.
• Proven experience managing global patent and trademark portfolios within multinational corporations or law firms.
• Extensive experience managing IP renewals, annuities, docketing, and external counsel.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing operational teams.
• Strong familiarity with global IP filing and maintenance processes across major jurisdictions (US, Europe, APAC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with IP management platforms, specifically Anaqua.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, or life sciences industries.
• Expertise in IP invoicing, accrual management, and vendor management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.
• Experience with IP operational transitions, migrations, or system implementations.
