Associate Director, Graduate Academic Services

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for graduate academic services, including admissions, registration, and student records management across three campuses.
• Manage three functional teams, overseeing organizational design, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
• Collaborate with university departments to develop and implement policies that align with the graduate student service vision.
• Provide expert advice to senior academic administrators on policy interpretation and procedural matters.
• Oversee the integrity of academic records and promote the confidentiality and governance of graduate student data.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve service delivery and business processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in registrarial and student academic services.
• Proven experience in the leadership of a multi-service unit.
• Extensive experience working with complex student information systems (e.g., ROSI or similar).
• Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Slate/GradApp), MS Office suite, and JIRA.
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff within a unionized environment and lead through organizational change.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in graduate education administration.
• Deep knowledge of University of Toronto policies, governance structures, and organizational frameworks.
