About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational delivery of global scientific communications, focusing on publications planning, development, and execution
- Oversee authorship planning, journal targeting, and submission processes to ensure alignment with scientific communication strategies
- Manage the creation of high-quality scientific content, including manuscripts, congress materials, slide decks, and scientific platforms
- Serve as the primary Client and Project Manager, overseeing timelines, budgets, and resources for multiple concurrent projects
- Contribute to Global Medical Affairs strategies and participate in the leadership team to drive innovation and business growth
- Manage and mentor medical/scientific writers and publication managers to build high-performing teams
- Cultivate trusted partnerships with client stakeholders and identify opportunities for strategic account growth
Requirements
- Medical or Scientific degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in medical or scientific communications
- Proven experience in publications planning and execution
- Advanced understanding of publication guidelines, including GPP and ICMJE
- Proficiency in Veeva Systems and other advanced computer technologies
- Experience conducting literature searches using PubMed, Ovid, or Embase
- Expertise in using reference management and citation software (e.g., EndNote, Mendeley)
- Strong project management skills with a track record of being results-driven
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) certification
- Experience developing medical content for Field Medical, Medical Information, or Medical Advisory Boards
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-client projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for technology, innovation (including AI), and process improvement
- Experience working within an Agile culture
