About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational delivery of global publication plans including manuscripts, abstracts, and posters
- Oversee authorship planning, journal targeting, and submission processes in compliance with GPP and ICMJE standards
- Lead creation of high-quality scientific content such as congress materials, slide decks, and scientific platforms
- Serve as primary Client and Project Manager for scientific communications projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources
- Contribute to Global Medical Affairs strategies and participate in the MA leadership team
- Manage and mentor medical/scientific writers and publication managers
- Cultivate long-term relationships with client stakeholders as a strategic advisor
Requirements
- Medical or Scientific degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, etc.)
- 5+ years in medical or scientific communications with expertise in publications planning
- Advanced understanding of publication guidelines (GPP, ICMJE, PRISMA, CONSORT, etc.)
- Proven track record in manuscript development and congress deliverables
- Experience managing publication vendors and authors
- Proficiency with Veeva Systems, PubMed, Ovid, Embase, and reference management software (EndNote, Mendeley, etc.)
- Strong project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) certification
- Experience developing Field Medical, Medical Information, or Medical Advisory Board content
- Experience working in an Agile culture and fast-paced environments
- Passion for technology, innovation, and AI-driven process improvement
