About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of administrative coordinators supporting faculty and research centers, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to policies.
  • Manage workload distribution, hiring, recruitment, training, and performance management for the coordination team.
  • Implement and document standard business practices and communication protocols across the department.
  • Monitor the department budget, including approving financial transactions, travel arrangements, and purchasing requests.
  • Support the planning and execution of faculty-led events, conferences, symposia, and co-curricular gatherings.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for partner teams such as Building Services, Business Office, and Registration Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in an academic, government/non-profit, law firm, or corporate environment.
  • Experience supervising full-time employees.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling complex personnel matters within a union environment.
  • Familiarity with academic institutions, faculty lifecycle, and governance.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial operations.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and superior organizational abilities.
  • Ability to exercise impeccable judgment and discretion in a fast-paced environment.
