Associate Director Discovery Biology

Responsibilities

• Provide deep subject-matter expertise in immunology, including fundamental immune biology, disease mechanisms, and human relevance.
• Identify and evaluate target-indication pairs aligned with therapeutic strategy, providing advisory input on biology, clinical rationale, and antibody modality.
• Lead biological assessments of immunology targets by integrating disease biology, pre-clinical/clinical data, and the competitive landscape.
• Apply whole-body and drug-development-focused judgment to assess technical, translational, and development risks (e.g., target distribution, safety, and PK/PD).
• Generate high-quality information packages to support project progression and decision-making for cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• PhD (or equivalent) in immunology, pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of post-doctoral or industry experience.
• Demonstrated drug development experience at the discovery-development interface within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Strong command of immunology combined with a demonstrable understanding of whole-body human biology.
• Proven ability to critically evaluate disease targets from a development and risk perspective.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex science to diverse audiences.
