About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable, secure data pipelines using Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and AWS.
- Support data flow across clinical systems (EDC, CTMS, IRT, etc.) and build transformations aligned with CDISC standards (CDASH, SDTM, ADaM).
- Implement frameworks for data quality, testing, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Partner with Platform, Cloud, and DevOps teams to evolve the clinical data platform, owning CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code.
- Lead complex cross-functional data engineering initiatives and mentor engineers on best practices and coding standards.
- Integrate data across the R&D lifecycle, including API-based ingestion and metadata management.
- Ensure alignment with GxP, CSV, FAIR, privacy, and data ethics standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 to 10+ years of data engineering experience with production-grade pipelines and large-scale distributed systems.
- 2 to 6+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Python.
- Experience in biotech or pharma regulated environments, including GxP/CSV and data governance.
- Hands-on experience with clinical data standards (CDISC) and clinical systems (EDC, CTMS, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps (GitHub), and infrastructure automation (Terraform).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with SAS and R.
- Familiarity with ML/AI workloads and model-ready data engineering.
- Experience working with CROs and external vendors.
