Associate Director CSR Reporting

Responsibilities

• Lead BioNTech's mandatory CSRD/ESRS and EU Taxonomy implementation, including the preparation of integrated management reports and audit-ready sustainability disclosures
• Develop a sustainability reporting architecture that serves both mandatory compliance and ESG rating performance
• Lead the operational execution of ESG rating processes (e.g., ISS ESG, S&P CSA) and coordinate capital market sustainability engagements
• Support the establishment and maintenance of a global carbon accounting framework and deliver internal reports for decarbonization analysis
• Oversee external sustainability assurance processes and manage relationships with auditors
• Align and improve internal reporting controls in collaboration with the Internal Controls Team

Requirements

• Master's degree in Sustainability, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of cross-functional leadership experience in sustainability reporting
• In-depth understanding of sustainability standards (GRI, ESRS, SASB, IFRS) and climate reporting frameworks (TCFD)
• Proven experience in sustainability reporting within publicly traded companies
• Strong project management, stakeholder alignment, and executive-level communication skills
• Business fluency in both English and German

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in the Pharma or Biotech industry
• Experience with SAP Sustainability Control Tower, SAP Green Ledger, or SAP Analytics Cloud
• Proficiency with the Workiva reporting platform
• Direct experience managing ESG ratings such as ISS ESG and S&P CSA
