Associate Director, Contract Optimization and Strategy Team

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end outsourcing of clinical indications and support governance of external service providers
• Partner with clinical operations for vendor identification, RFI/RFP creation, and service provider selection
• Oversee contract negotiations, including scopes of work, budgets, and payment schedules
• Manage contract lifecycles in collaboration with the legal department
• Drive vendor performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics
• Oversee budget reconciliation and negotiate change orders
• Manage and oversee direct reports

Requirements

• BA/BS in a related discipline
• At least 11 years of related experience
• Minimum of 5 years in a management role overseeing individuals
• Minimum of 6 years of direct clinical business operations, outsourcing, or vendor governance experience in CRO, Biotech, or Pharma
• Solid understanding of drug development and development operations
• Experience in RFI/RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contract/budget management
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with financial and legal systems/portals
• Knowledge of Ex-US clinical trial operations
• Working knowledge of regulatory, ICH, and GCP standards
• Experience with Grant Plan or Grant Manager
• Global Project Level Budget Builds
• Advanced knowledge of Smartsheet
