Associate Director, Commercial Counsel

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and DPAs
• Manage contract compliance and drive continuous improvement of templates and playbooks
• Provide risk assessments and lead commercial dispute resolution efforts
• Serve as a legal advisor to senior management on commercial and AI-related matters
• Leverage and integrate AI-powered legal tools into workflows to increase efficiency
• Mentor junior legal team members and foster knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Juris Doctor and bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state
• 5+ years of transactional contract experience
• Experience with high-volume contract workloads and advising senior stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered legal tools and contract analysis platforms
• Strong organizational and complex problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant in-house legal experience
• Experience with creative production contracts such as music licensing or talent agreements
• Litigation experience
• Understanding of AI, digital services, and technology development
