About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the Directors of Trial Team, Moot Court, and Dispute Resolution with Center-driven advocacy programs.
  • Manage daily activities for Center-sponsored conferences, workshops, and hosted advocacy competitions, including the National Pretrial Competition (NPTC).
  • Maintain the digital presence of the Center for Advocacy Education and Trial Team on social media platforms and update webpages regularly.
  • Assist in planning and presenting at Center-sponsored events such as the annual Writing Workshop and Competition and the Oxford Comparative Trial Skills Course.
  • Support campus initiatives including advocacy board try-outs, student events, and intramural competitions.
  • Maintain achievement information for advocacy competition teams regarding honors and awards.
  • Assist in the development and administration of professional development courses and certificates.

Requirements

  • J.D. or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration or Higher Education).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and ethical behavior.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work irregular hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to three years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience developing and managing programs.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or higher education environment.
