Associate Director, Biostatistics

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct biostatistics work for clinical or preclinical projects, ensuring high-quality delivery to standards and timelines.
• Oversee multiple studies or indications within a project, potentially serving as a Global Project Statistician.
• Direct project work involving internal statistical staff and/or external CRO partners.
• Provide statistical leadership for development plans, regulatory strategies, and health technology assessments.
• Develop design options and provide decision support to quantify benefit, risk, and uncertainty of emerging assets.
• Investigate and apply novel statistical approaches, including modeling and simulation.
• Mentor and coach statistics staff to support their professional education and training.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics (with a substantial statistical component), or a recognized equivalent.
• 3 years of experience working as a statistician within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong proficiency in programming using R and/or SAS.
• Comprehensive knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements related to biostatistics.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
• Ability to work well under pressure in an office-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics.
• Proven project management skills.
• Knowledge of Bayesian statistics, from theory to computation.
