About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of high-quality fundraising proposals, cases for support, and donor-facing materials to support annual giving and capital campaigns.
  • Partner with frontline fundraisers and leadership to translate institutional priorities into compelling, donor-centered narratives.
  • Develop and manage fundraising slide decks, executive-level presentations, and multimedia content including videos and digital storytelling.
  • Serve as project manager for complex Advancement communications, coordinating timelines, approvals, and delivery across multiple stakeholders.
  • Leverage AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and NotebookLM) to support research, drafting, and content optimization.
  • Create stewardship communications and impact reports to reinforce donor relationships and transparency.
  • Manage and mentor the Advancement Content Developer-Writer and Assistant Director of Communications and Special Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in annual giving, fundraising, alumni engagement, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in project management and managing complex, multi-stakeholder workflows.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills with the ability to produce persuasive, high-impact content.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and data to guide strategy and execution.
  • Proficiency with technology platforms, including relational databases and AI-enabled content tools.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by university priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a higher education advancement environment.
  • Proficiency with web design, multimedia software, or digital storytelling tools.
  • Experience with online giving platforms and crowdfunding tools.
