Associate Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support light weighting and downgauging projects to meet engineering and business targets
• Assist in capital projects including machine specifications, tooling design, procurement, and commissioning
• Contribute to improving manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost reduction initiatives
• Provide technical support to resolve tooling and process-related issues across regional plants
• Use statistical tools such as SPC, Six Sigma, and Minitab for analysis and problem solving
• Support project management activities, ensuring timelines and objectives are met
• Assist with design modifications and testing of new or improved can designs
• Support mechanical testing and measurement of tooling and products using precision equipment
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across engineering, production, quality, and procurement

Requirements

• Apprenticeship or qualification in Manufacturing or Engineering (ONC or equivalent preferred)
• Knowledge of metal forming processes, tooling design, and high-speed manufacturing environments
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or similar
• Familiarity with statistical tools such as Minitab or SPC
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Fluent English required
