About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist category Designers in researching new ideas, fabrications, and materials
  • Present design concepts and ideas to the Design Director and category designers
  • Manage technical specifications and vendor communication, including sample comments and product approvals in PLM
  • Create and maintain visual line list decks, presentation decks, and digital concept boards
  • Maintain and organize physical and digital development samples
  • Research industry trends and shop competitors to drive design inspiration and collection development
  • Work proactively according to the development calendar to meet all timelines and deadlines

Requirements

  • Portfolio link (including password) must be provided on resume or with application
  • Degree in Textile Design or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of design work experience, preferably in home furnishings or textiles
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong CAD skills, including the ability to manipulate artwork, create mockups, and generate colorways
  • Strong understanding of fabric qualities, constructions, and techniques
  • Ability to work onsite in the New York office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing products directly with factories
