About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for medical student admissions, student affairs, wellness, and enrollment management.
- Oversee student support services, co-curricular programs, and initiatives that promote student well-being, belonging, and professional development.
- Lead holistic admissions processes, including applicant recruitment, interview processes, and admissions committee operations.
- Manage enrollment management strategies and ensure compliance with LCME accreditation standards and AAMC reporting requirements.
- Oversee student academic records, registration, financial aid services, and clinical elective scheduling.
- Serve as a key student advocate and advisor regarding student conduct, leaves of absence, and challenges impacting academic success.
- Collaborate with the Dean’s Executive Cabinet and institutional leadership on strategic initiatives related to medical education.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- If a physician, must be board certified or board eligible in their specialty and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Five years of experience in a medical school or higher education environment with knowledge of undergraduate medical education or LCME standards.
- Five years of progressive leadership experience in medical education, student affairs, admissions, or academic affairs.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly, professional, or programmatic contributions in medical education or related fields.
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LCME accreditation standards related to student affairs, admissions, and the learning environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading admissions strategy, holistic review processes, or mission-driven recruitment.
- Experience using student outcomes, admissions, or institutional data to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Experience working within a complex academic health center or higher education environment.
