Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the General Education curriculum, including course design, scheduling, staffing, and policy development.
• Coordinate program-level and General Education assessment to improve student learning outcomes and ensure alignment with accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with campus partners to advance strategies supporting student retention, persistence, and timely degree completion.
• Lead faculty development initiatives related to pedagogy, assessment, high-impact learning, and inclusive teaching.
• Manage the General Education budget and oversee resource allocation in consultation with the Dean.
• Serve as a key advisor to the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences on strategic priorities and university initiatives.
• Oversee internship and directed study initiatives to ensure alignment with academic standards and learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in the arts or sciences from an accredited institution.
• Proven experience in academic administration.
• Demonstrated experience in academic program development.
• Proven effectiveness in fiscal management and resource allocation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
