About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership for campus-wide recreation and sports, including fitness, intramural sports, club sports, and outdoor recreation.
  • Oversee the strategic direction and operations of the Lake Campus athletics program.
  • Develop and execute a unified student engagement model that integrates various recreational and athletic offerings to drive recruitment and retention.
  • Supervise professional and student staff, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and professional development.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and the identification of external funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative units to align co-curricular programming with institutional priorities.
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and inclusive program delivery across all facilities and venues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, sports management, recreation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in campus recreation, student engagement, or athletics administration.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-functional programs.
  • Demonstrated success in developing student-focused initiatives that support engagement and retention.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working within or in partnership with NCAA athletic programs.
  • Direct experience in a Division III administrative environment.
  • Experience managing programs across multiple campuses or locations.
  • Demonstrated success in aligning co-curricular programming with enrollment management strategies.
  • Experience building community partnerships and leveraging regional assets.
