About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized financial aid counseling to prospective and enrolled students and their families regarding options, eligibility, and funding.
- Manage fund requests and reconciliation for state and federal grant programs, including MN OHE.
- Develop and implement a scholarship management system in collaboration with the Advancement office.
- Serve as the Veterans Affairs liaison to ensure eligible students receive appropriate military benefits.
- Manage tuition exchange programs and assist with the student withdrawal and Satisfactory Academic Progress processes.
- Review and evaluate student appeals regarding unexpected financial challenges or special circumstances.
- Assist with financial aid data transmission to the Department of Education via COD and Colleague.
- Collaborate with the Student Accounts Office to ensure accurate account updates and information sharing.
- Participate in financial aid presentations for Admission Office visit days and community events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial aid administration or a related role.
- Proficiency in financial aid management software and database systems.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach to handling sensitive information.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in college financial aid administration.
- Understanding of the strategic use of financial aid for student recruitment and retention.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague.
- Experience with Federal Direct Loan Programs, Minnesota State Grant Programs, COD, FAAAccess, and NSLDS.
