Associate Dean of Education and Program Director

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Bethel’s education programs, including teacher education and K–12 administration.
• Lead assigned online undergraduate or graduate education programs, ensuring academic quality and student learning outcomes.
• Supervise and support program directors, department chairs, and faculty while fostering a mission-aligned culture.
• Coordinate and oversee state accreditation and reporting processes (e.g., PELSB, BOSA).
• Manage program budgets, resources, and personnel hiring/development.
• Partner with admissions and marketing teams to support enrollment growth and student retention.
• Represent the university with internal stakeholders and external PK–12 educational partners.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in education.
• Minimum of 5 years of college-level teaching experience.
• At least 3 years of significant academic leadership experience (e.g., Department Chair or Program Director).
• Proven experience with accreditation processes and maintaining program standing.
• Experience managing budgets and hiring personnel.
• Demonstrated commitment to Christ-centered leadership and inclusive excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within PK–12 systems or PK–12/higher education partnerships.
• Experience with residency, apprenticeship, or clinically based programs.
• Familiarity with learning management systems such as Moodle, Blackboard, or eCollege.
