About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for student affairs functions, including well-being, academic advising, and student life.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with LCME standards regarding the learning environment and student mistreatment.
  • Develop and manage administrative systems for student services, record-keeping, policy implementation, and major events like orientation and graduation.
  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive medical student well-being programs.
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment across departments to ensure equitable access to support resources and timely student intervention.
  • Guide students on academic progression, professional identity formation, and navigating training challenges.
  • Evaluate the student experience and analyze outcomes such as retention and satisfaction to inform strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5-10 years of significant leadership experience in medical education, student affairs, academic administration, or a related healthcare leadership environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Qualtrics, Zoom, and student information systems.
  • Superior organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a collaborative, team-oriented setting and exercise independent judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience advising, mentoring, or providing support services specifically to medical students.
