About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the dental curriculum.
- Lead the accreditation effort, serving as the primary point of contact for the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Ensure all academic programs and college activities comply with CODA standards and reporting requirements.
- Oversee the Academic Affairs department budget and participate in strategic planning for the College of Dentistry.
- Mentor faculty and academic staff to advance educational excellence and interprofessional initiatives.
- Organize and advise on college committee structures to support program quality and governance.
- Manage the delivery of a coordinated curriculum that meets the needs of students and faculty.
Requirements
- D.D.S./D.M.D. degree (or equivalent).
- Eligibility for faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
- Decanal or high-level administrative experience in dental education at an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dental education administration and curricular development.
- In-depth knowledge of CODA accreditation requirements and expectations.
- Demonstrated track record as an educational scholar or clinician-educator with national recognition.
