Associate Dean, Access & Retention Services

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of Accessibility Offices, TRIO, testing, learning support services, and the Academic Engagement Program.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and develop accessibility and retention staff across all campuses.
• Serve as the College’s primary ADA compliance officer, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Review and monitor professional documentation of student disabilities and advise on reasonable accommodations.
• Provide strategic direction for retention initiatives, including tutoring, supplemental instruction, and student outreach.
• Collaborate with faculty and academic deans to promote universal design for learning and trauma-informed practices.
• Maintain accurate data and prepare reports regarding student retention and completion.
• Manage department budgets in compliance with College policies and government regulations.

Requirements

• Master's degree or a specialized certification program (one year or more of coursework beyond a Bachelor's degree).
• 5-10 years of experience related to student retention and completion.
• 3-5 years of experience working with ADA/504 regulations in a higher education environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation for travel between campus locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
