Associate Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows using Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake) for large-scale data processing
• Build ETL pipelines using Informatica or other ETL tools
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Business SMEs, and Data Scientists to develop end-to-end data solutions
• Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into actionable development tasks
• Execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and identify bugs
• Support data governance, metadata management, and adherence to best practices for reusable code
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines as part of DevOps practices to assist in the release process

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• 3 to 6 years of experience in IT or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Databricks and Apache Spark
• Proficiency in using SQL for extracting and transforming complex datasets from relational stores
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Familiarity with Informatica and/or other ETL tools
• Strong understanding of data modeling and entity relationships

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software engineering best practices, including version control, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
• AWS Certified Data Engineer or Databricks Certification
• Experience with R and workflow orchestration
