About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operating space during surgeries, including monitoring anesthesia and performing surgical site preparation using aseptic technique.
  • Support the surgical flow by anticipating surgeon needs and providing efficient technological assistance.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitary standards of the mobile unit and operating spaces to prevent contamination.
  • Assist in the handling, maintenance, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Manage inventory and communicate when supplies are low or need to be ordered.
  • Assist with administrative documentation, educational presentations, and student supervision.
  • Support shelter medicine operations during mobile unit visits and assist during natural disasters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, OR completion of a Surgical Technology program, OR an Associate's degree in veterinary technology, OR CVT/equivalent.
  • Alternatively, 3 years of experience in a working environment with similar duties.
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks including kneeling, bending, and squatting.
  • Proficiency in basic computer, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of related experience.
  • Fear-free certification.
