About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate laboratory staff and trainees
- Manage daily laboratory operations and respond to public health outbreak events
- Plan and supervise laboratory services relating to regulatory standards
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards for accreditation
- Manage laboratory inventory, storage, and supplies usage
- Perform high and moderate complexity laboratory testing on clinical and environmental specimens
- Maintain quality control and quality assurance programs
- Generate reports and maintain accurate laboratory records
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree with 16 semester credits in chemistry and 8 credits in natural sciences
- Valid License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by the New York State Education Department
- For Assignment Level II: at least two years of full-time experience in chemical or physical laboratory analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in water chemistry or environmental specimen testing
- Ability to manage laboratory staff and coordinate surge events
