About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with cataloguing, researching, and preparing notes for Private Sales and Middle Market Global Fine Art departments
  • Organize scans, references, and perform thorough book checks and vetting
  • Draft catalogue essays and maintain comprehensive property files including fact sheets and images
  • Support the proposal process and contribute to valuation listings
  • Collaborate on digital and print publication layouts
  • Ensure color accuracy of lot images and assist with photography and video direction
  • Liaise with support departments including registrars, catalogue production, press, and marketing
  • Examine condition of works and coordinate with third-party conservators
  • Support exhibition preparation, installation, and department administrative tasks
  • Manage authentication processes and gallery outreach

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study
  • 1-2 years of professional experience
  • General knowledge of Contemporary art history, artists, and values
  • Extreme familiarity with institutional library systems
  • Impeccable organizational and writing skills
  • Ability to work long hours, including late evenings and weekends during sale deadlines
  • Ability to multitask in a pressured environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Spanish
