About the role

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in family court proceedings for divorce, custody, support, and protective orders
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and provide case strategy recommendations
  • Negotiate settlements and work collaboratively with opposing counsel
  • Interview and counsel clients while maintaining confidentiality
  • Manage case files and deadlines efficiently
  • Participate in mediation, hearings, and trials as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant family law statutes and court procedures

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the South Carolina state bar and in good standing
  • 2+ years of experience in South Carolina Family Court
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Litigation experience is required
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
