Associate Art Director

Responsibilities

• Curate and critique art for multiple projects running simultaneously
• Brainstorm and develop art styles, illustrating game designs and pitches through hands-on drawing
• Take full ownership of the art style for assigned games
• Work directly with other directors and the studio head on a daily basis
• Present art styles and visions to clients and publishers
• Collaborate with studio production staff to produce accurate estimates and schedules
• Manage the art team, including recruiting new talent and performance managing existing staff
• Review milestones with other directors for sign-off before submissions
• Work closely with lead artists to ensure high-quality delivery

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Lead or Associate Art Director
• A proven track record of leading art teams for top-tier AAA console games
• Ability to draw and sketch ideas on the fly to support game design
• Strong ownership of art style and implementation from pitch to production
• Proficiency with art tools including Maya, Blender, Photoshop, Zbrush, and Substance
• Experience using 3rd party game engines
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills for client and publisher interaction
• A deep passion for games and a solid understanding of all art disciplines
