Associate Airport Engineer

Responsibilities

• Compare airplane configurations with global airport operations and infrastructure to identify incompatibilities
• Perform on-site tests to validate pavement roughness and strength and provide technical recommendations
• Analyze and document airport infrastructure to recommend necessary modifications and upgrades
• Conduct trade studies regarding airplane design characteristics to provide configuration change recommendations
• Participate in airport-related conferences and industry meetings to influence regulatory and infrastructure changes

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
• 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/AviPlan
• Experience using FAA Pavement Design tools
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree specifically in Civil Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in airport design and planning
• Experience interacting with airline customers, aviation industry associations, or national aviation authority officials
