Assistant/Associate/Professor of Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

• Teach approved LMU-DCOM curriculum through lectures, seminars, and small group discussions
• Perform clinical duties and provide bedside teaching for students in clinical settings
• Engage in scholarly activity and contribute to the development and evaluation of academic programs
• Supervise students during clinical educational activities, including the use of standardized patients
• Mentor medical and other students, serving as a professional role model
• Prepare examination questions, grade coursework, and maintain course objectives
• Participate in clinic quality assurance, faculty meetings, and departmental committees
• Complete required institutional and program accreditation reports

Requirements

• D.O. or M.D. degree
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine
• Ability to obtain a Tennessee medical license within the first year of hire
• Ability to maintain an unrestricted Tennessee license and approved medical professional liability insurance

Preferred Qualifications

• D.O. degree with the ability to be licensed in Tennessee via the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical or academic medicine teaching and leadership
