Assistant/Associate/Professor of Family Medicine

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching, clinical duties, and scientific scholarship within the Department of Clinical Medicine.
• Lead and facilitate skills labs for residents and students at GME partner institutions to ensure competency-based learning.
• Design and deliver structured procedural training sessions to enhance clinical competencies.
• Establish curriculum, subject matter, and methods of instruction for medical education.
• Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of courses and academic programs within the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Provide clinical service, patient care, and bedside teaching for students in clinical settings.
• Supervise students during authorized patient care events, including health fairs and community outreach.
• Participate in scholarly activity and serve as a mentor to medical and other students.
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on appointed or elected committees.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Tennessee medical license (via the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination or Tennessee Medical State Board) within the first year of hire.
• Maintenance of an unrestricted Tennessee license throughout employment.
• Possession of approved medical professional liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical or academic medicine teaching and leadership.
• Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience.
