About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic education for the Physician Assistant Program, including classroom teaching and lab sessions
  • Engage in scholarship and professional service, comprising approximately 30% of the workload
  • Advise and mentor students, coordinate courses, and participate in student assessment
  • Develop student objectives and perform clinical site visits and evaluations
  • Participate in department meetings, university committees, and the ARC-PA accreditation process
  • Assist with the admissions process and maintain an ongoing personal program of scholarly activity

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA-accredited PA program
  • Master’s degree in PA studies or a related discipline
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • California state licensure or eligibility for licensure
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant
  • Minimum of one year of academic experience in Physician Assistant education

Preferred Qualifications

  • DMSc, PhD, DHSc, or equivalent terminal degree
  • Five or more years of experience in Physician Assistant education
  • Proficiency in Medical Spanish
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting
