Assistant/Associate Professor of English

Responsibilities

• Teach a 4/4 course load, typically including freshman composition and literature survey or upper-level literature courses
• Develop syllabi, assessments, and course materials in alignment with institutional guidelines
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students to support their academic success
• Engage in scholarly research and contribute to curriculum development and program assessment
• Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional meetings and service activities
• Utilize diverse teaching methods and pedagogy to enhance student learning outcomes

Requirements

• Ph.D. in English, Literature, Writing, or a related discipline
• Successful college-level teaching experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of literature and writing pedagogy

Preferred Qualifications

• A proven record of successful teaching experience at the college level
• Expertise in specific areas of literature or writing studies
