About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and evaluate multidisciplinary educational programs focused on sustainable economic development and management of fisheries, wetlands, and coastal natural resources.
- Develop programming related to community resilience, environmental change, wetland loss, and storm surge threats.
- Collaborate with public and private sector leaders, resource management agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Establish and work with advisory committees to help residents and elected officials make informed decisions regarding coastal development.
- Deliver educational content through various methods including workshops, conferences, web-based communications, mass media, and professional publications.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in natural resource management, fisheries, wildlife, biology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 2.5 undergraduate GPA and minimum 3.0 graduate GPA (based on a 4.0 system).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possession of a personal automobile and appropriate insurance coverage.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and function effectively with diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in applied research, data collection, and applied resource management.
- Experience in planning and executing educational programs.
- Knowledge of public relations and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
