Assistant Vice President - Wholesale Credit Sanctioning - LevFin

Responsibilities

• Independently assess and make credit decisions for complex financing transactions within the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Funds sectors.
• Analyze complex financial information and business models to assess creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and potential risks.
• Monitor the performance of the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund portfolios, identifying early warning signs of credit deterioration.
• Evaluate risk profiles considering industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions.
• Document credit decisions and rationale clearly to adhere to internal audit and regulatory reporting standards.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified credit risks and optimize portfolio performance.
• Lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, and contribute to the development of credit risk policies.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in corporate credit risk assessment of global credits, specifically focusing on US and/or EMEA regions.
• Domain expertise in High Risk, Leveraged Finance (LevFin), or High Yield sectors.
• Proven experience preparing annual and periodic credit reviews for senior Risk Officers and Credit Committees.
• Experience in ongoing portfolio monitoring and evaluating the impact of developments on regulatory ratings.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to provide big-picture decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to articulate complex concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in credit risk within an international banking environment.
• Ability to support senior credit officers during regulatory examinations, internal audits, and complex risk initiatives.
