Assistant Vice President, Trade Finance

Responsibilities

• Provide expert processing and technical consultation for Commodity and Structured Trade Finance across the EMEA region
• Verify and process Letters of Credit (LCs), Letters of Guarantee (LGs), and collections in adherence to UCP600, URDG758, and URC rules
• Oversee quality assurance tasks including end-of-day controls, checklist completion, and workflow distribution
• Act as a coach and mentor for junior team members, providing guidance on technical matters and regulatory requirements
• Ensure strict compliance with bank policies and AML controls to mitigate financial crime risks
• Collaborate with other Assistant Vice Presidents to manage workload distribution and drive process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Proven experience in trade finance operations, specifically checking shipping documents against UCP600 standards
• Comprehensive knowledge of trade finance products including import/export LCs, LGs, and documentary collections
• In-depth understanding of UCP600, URDG758, URC522, ISBP745, and relevant ICC publications
• Familiarity with AML controls and awareness of UK, Japan, and OFAC sanction policies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with SWIFT message formatting
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage priorities under pressure
• University degree is essential; CDCS or CSDG certifications are highly desirable
