Assistant Vice President, Sanctions Advisory

Responsibilities

• Provide expert sanctions advisory to the EMEA region, ensuring advice is clear, informative, and consistent
• Conduct risk assessments on proposed transactions and review complex customer cases
• Manage and oversee regulatory reporting to relevant authorities, such as OFSI and OTSI
• Monitor regulatory developments and horizon scanning, including new issuances of specific or general licenses
• Support license application requests and the management of frozen or blocked funds
• Collaborate with global and regional sanctions colleagues to ensure consistent application of standards across jurisdictions
• Review and interpret Japanese, U.S., and EMEA sanctions regimes, including UK regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Proven experience in Sanctions and the banking industry
• Strong knowledge of OFAC and EU regulations
• Deep understanding of banking and investment products
• Solid understanding of financial crime risk (AML and ABC) and risk management controls
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage large workloads and meet tight deadlines in a pressurized environment

Preferred Qualifications

• University degree
• Relevant professional qualifications in compliance or financial crime
