Assistant Vice President - Risk and Control

Responsibilities

• Assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risk.
• Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across various business units to improve control effectiveness through detailed documentation and assessments.
• Develop reports to communicate key findings, control weaknesses, and recommendations to senior management and control owners.
• Execute reviews to ensure the internal control framework aligns with evolving policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Lead complex assignments or teams, providing guidance and coaching to ensure high-quality delivery of work impacting the business function.

Requirements

• Proven experience working within a Risk or Control function.
• Experience in Financial Crime roles, such as KYC Onboarding, Screening, or Transaction Monitoring.
• Strong ability to perform internal control assessments and investigations.
• Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management and the ability to influence decision-making.
• Ability to apply sound judgment to balance risk with business objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems using data from multiple internal and external sources.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Investment Bank environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using AI, Co-Pilot, or equivalent digital tools to enhance productivity.
• Ability to prioritize and deliver high-quality results under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
