About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of complex cooling, HVAC, and hydronic systems, including air distribution, chiller plants, and alternative energy solutions.
  • Act as the lead mechanical engineer on projects, directing project teams and managing technical development and scheduling.
  • Design automatic building automation control systems and specifications for large air distribution and heat rejection systems.
  • Mentor and train a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Perform project management activities including writing proposals, establishing budgets, and managing client interactions.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams, external equipment vendors, and manufacturers to develop drawing and specification documents.
  • Attend client meetings, lead discussions, and communicate complex engineering concepts to stakeholders.
  • Conduct site surveys to evaluate existing conditions and perform construction administration.

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 10+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for high-performing commercial, industrial, or mission-critical/data center buildings.
  • Proven history in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with a strong emphasis on mechanical building systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and relevant building codes.
  • Experience mentoring and training junior engineering staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and construction teams.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and travel to client sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with Mission Critical or Data Center environments.
  • Experience with the analysis of interior and exterior Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) of airflow.
  • Experience managing international projects and knowledge of international codes and standards.
