Assistant Vice President – Indirect Tax

Responsibilities

• Manage the indirect tax function for Aldar Group and ensure compliance with UAE laws and regulations.
• Develop and execute indirect tax strategies aligned with group objectives.
• Support M&A activities and provide indirect tax expertise during transactions.
• Prepare indirect tax returns, filings, and periodic reporting to authorities.
• Implement robust indirect tax compliance processes and E-Invoicing updates.
• Identify opportunities to optimize tax positions and mitigate potential risks.
• Manage relationships and responses regarding indirect tax audits.
• Provide training and guidance to the tax team and stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Internal Control.
• Participate in the review of intercompany and related party reconciliations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in financial and management accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Deep understanding of UAE VAT laws, registration, and implementation.
• Proven experience in VAT or E-Invoicing implementation.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills.
• High level of attention to detail and vigilance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CTA.
• Experience in the real estate industry or a related sector.
• In-house experience or background with a Big 4 firm.
