Assistant Vice President for Mission & Ministry and Chief Mission Officer

Responsibilities

• Promote and articulate the University’s Catholic and historically Black identity across all areas of campus life.
• Serve as the President’s principal advisor on matters related to mission and identity.
• Lead the Campus Ministry team in providing liturgical services, retreats, and spiritual counseling.
• Collaborate with the Provost and academic Deans to integrate mission-oriented elements into the curriculum.
• Design and lead initiatives that deepen understanding of Catholic Social Teaching, racial justice, and servant-leadership.
• Foster social justice learning and service opportunities in alignment with the legacy of Saint Katharine Drexel.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in higher education, campus ministry, mission leadership, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of the Catholic intellectual tradition, social teaching, and the charism of Saint Katharine Drexel.
• Demonstrated commitment to issues of racial justice, equity, and service in a culturally diverse environment.
• Proven leadership in strategic planning, team building, and interdepartmental collaboration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
