About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a practical enterprise roadmap for using AI, data, and analytics to improve university operations.
- Identify high-value administrative use cases across Finance, HR, Enrollment Management, and other domains.
- Lead a portfolio of administrative AI initiatives to reduce manual work and improve service delivery.
- Advance enterprise data maturity and strengthen data governance practices in partnership with institutional stakeholders.
- Oversee the operationalization of enterprise AI services, including service models for tools like ChatGPT Edu, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.
- Develop a framework for evaluating AI capabilities embedded in enterprise vendor platforms (ERP, CRM, etc.).
- Coordinate responsible AI governance, addressing privacy, security, bias, and compliance.
- Set the strategy for staff-focused AI literacy, change management, and adoption efforts.
- Manage and provide strategic leadership for the AI Engineering and Architecture, Data, and Analytics and Integrations teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, data science, business administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enterprise technology, data governance, or digital transformation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (CMU will not sponsor visas for this role).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in complex, decentralized environments.
- Deep technical understanding of generative AI, data platforms, and automation technologies.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Snowflake, Tableau, Workday, or Salesforce.
