Assistant Track Coach, Horizontal and Vertical Jump Events

Responsibilities

• Recruit, direct, and conduct training sessions for horizontal and vertical jump events.
• Schedule and manage practice sessions for the jumps group.
• Support university enrollment goals by recruiting prospective undergraduate students and enriching the campus visit experience.
• Serve as a liaison between the Track & Field/Cross Country staff and the Admissions department.
• Assist with the scholarship process and communicate financial aid information to relevant parties.
• Maintain regular contact with prospects via phone, email, social media, and other communication channels.
• Support program strength and conditioning specifically for the jumps group.
• Manage event-specific training tools and equipment.
• Travel to high schools and athletic meets as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Previous track and field coaching experience.
• Personal experience as an athlete in track and field jump events.
• Strong knowledge of training and conditioning techniques.
• Ability to diagnose athlete deficiencies and prescribe corrective activities.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with athletes, parents, and staff.
• Ability to adhere to the ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
