About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the Department of Biological Sciences and confidential support to the Chair
- Manage academic processes including promotions, tenures, searches, and research leaves
- Collect documentation required for tenure and review processes from senior leadership
- Implement process improvements for academic search activities and prepare draft employment letters
- Coordinate meeting schedules, agendas, materials, and follow-up items
- Draft internal and external communications and serve as a resource for job-related guidance
Requirements
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or an equivalent combination of experience
- Minimum of three years of senior administrative or executive support experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting
- Demonstrated experience providing academic support (searches, tenures, promotions, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of SuccessFactors or other online application systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with University of Toronto policies, rules, and procedures
- Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams, and OneDrive
